Funerals

Awen is an experienced and professional funeral celebrant, offering both civil and pagan funeral services.  Working with families to meet the needs of them and their loved one at the end of life.  All funeral services are personalised and written to honour and celebrate the persons life, so that friends and family  can say goodbye in the way that feels right for them.
Did you know that a funeral ceremony doesn’t have to take place in a chapel or crematorium?  It can be performed at the family home or other appropriate venue of your choice, before the burial or cremation.  Some examples might include – art galleries, football grounds or even outdoors in the woods or by the sea.

Whether you want it to be quiet and simple or a noise filled celebration, non religious or a full pagan funeral rite, I will work with you to create the right farewell for yourself or the person who has died.  Upon booking me for a funeral service we will have a meeting in person so I can get to know as much as possible about the person who has died and we will talk about what you want to do and include.  I will be available to you from booking right up to the day of the funeral service and you can call on me at any time.

If you are coming to the end of your life and would like help to plan your funeral in advance or have a living wake. Increasingly people are finding comfort in knowing everything is in hand before they die and even in having the chance to see all their loved ones through having a living funeral or living wake.  If you would like more information about this please don’t hesitate to be in touch with me.

I am also pleased to offer memorial ceremonies if for any reason you haven’t been able to hold a funeral or wish to celebrate the person’s life separately or in a different way.  It is not unusual for people on a pagan spiritual path to have a civil funeral and then have a seperate pagan memorial later and I am very happy to help facilitate this.

Please do email me if you need my assistance with a funeral or memorial service
